I had an idea for a chess variant that could be pretty entertaining.
The way it works:
One side is the "master"; a highly rated player or perhaps a titled player. They play regular chess moves.
The other side is the "crowd"; a group of about 10-30 people who "vote" for a move by making that move against the master player.
After all players have made their "vote" move, the move that receives the highest number of votes is made. If all players make different moves, either choose the most accurate suggestion or the move made by the highest rated player.
There could be a time limit imposed on the 'crowd' side, giving them 20 seconds, for example, to make their moves.
This would, of course, be difficult to implement, and may be better suited as some sort of one-off event or tournament mode, but still...
it would be AWESOME!
Cheers
