Sometimes, I get bored at something or risk to burn out if I put too much time and effort in it. So yes, this happens to me, too. In those situations, I will take a rest or do something else.
We don't know each other, so I don't know what kind of other activities you enjoy. I think that's completely up to you. :-)
Personally, when I need a break from chess, I will do something which will help my brain to relax: e. g. taking a walk in the parc, chatting with friends, cooking some tasty food or having a nap.
