Thoughts about checks in online blitz

Hi guys,

Yesterday I went to my club and I was playing some real life blitz games. And after letting other people kill my king a couple times, I realized that it was because after playing online (quite a lot since I found lichess) I just don't care that much about the big guy.

As many of you know, in real life blitz games, you don't say check and you can lose if you let your opponent kill your king. In every online system I have used this is not the case and the program doesn't let you forget about your king.

So my question is: Are you happy with the things like they are now? Would you like to change?
A move is not legal or illegal until the clock is pressed.
On line chess, we do not press the clock and so cannot make illegal moves. It is a great learning tool.
Capturing a King is in fact an illegal move. No king can legally capture another king.
Playing another piece becomes an illegal move after you pressed the clock (when you leave your own king in check.)
You opponent should be claiming the illegal move before playing their move.
Imagine trying to analyse a chess game that has illegal moves.
